SWABIK - Software Tools for Exchanging DICOM CDs in Clinical Research

Welcome to the SWABIK Homepage

SWABIK is a research project funded by the German Ministry of Research and Education (BMBF). It's acronym resolves to the German "Software-Werkzeuge für den Austausch von Bilddatenträgern in der klinischen Forschung".

In the area of clinical research, medical images are usually exchanged via CDs based on the DICOM standard (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine). The project aims at supporting the exchange of those media in clinical research. In order to reach that goal, best-practice guidelines and standardized software tools are developed for creating and importing such CDs in the context of clinical trials.
